sexual content is more than welcome unless otherwise specified, though i'd like it to not constitute the whole of a work. i love sex that contributes to the thematic elements of a story or characterization. i love examinations of characters as a sum of their lived experiences, and peeks into their inner worlds. i also love seeing glimpses of the worlds they live in and how they work. i enjoy any story length and any density of plot. feel free to use any pov, or non-standard formatting: epistolary, nonlinear — whatever strikes you. i may have listed some headcanons for each character under their canon, these are just ideas that i find fun.
please don't let anything i've written here limit you. mix prompts, use prompts from another fandom, take a unique spin on one of my likes, etc. i'll enjoy whatever it is you write! so please write something that you'll enjoy as well!
if you have any clarifying questions i'll gladly work things out with the mods of the exchange, and i have anonymous asks on on tumblr.
thank you for checking out my letter, and happy creating!
fandoms
this is an alphabetical list of all canons/fandoms i've requested in previous and current exchanges! characters, relationships, and other details can be found under the proper drop-down.
next to each fandom i've put the length of story, in case you wanted to check out anything i've listed (all of which i highly reccomend!), and sometimes links to view it. it's not always necessary to have seen all of a canon to create something for me, so i've marked these specific ones with a little star (⟡)!
for literature and other written content, it's length in words. for television series, it is number of episodes and their average runtimes. for videogames, it's total duration of story content, not including gameplay. for series, it's runtime or wordcount of each installment, or total length of each medium type, separated by slashes (/).
breath of the wild + tears of the kingdom (videogames) — 4hr 18m ⟡
i played botw like six years late (and actually ended up perfectly timing the release of totk) and i was so glad i did. these games are so fun and so beautiful. the setting is so rich with detail that could be spun into greater worldbuilding, if you so wished. i think it'd be fun to expand on the lives of those living in hyrule alongside any relationships!
relationship: mipha/zelda
headcanons: mipha — lesbian, trans (however this would manifest in a fish-person). zelda — lesbian, trans
okay, zelpha. they have maybe two scenes together, but i love them!! there's just a softness and familiarity to their interactions that i love, and they get to be pretty princesses together! i find mipha and zelda both to be especially tragic characters, so i think there's also angsty nonsense rife with them.
ideas:
- some kind of political intrigue — princesses involved in an elevated scheme spanning courts, all while falling in love? two houses, both alike in dignity?? or mipha and zelda are stifled by duty and expectation and carry out an illicit affair?
- the champions lived, and after the calamity has fallen again, mipha and zelda grow close again away from stress. cue the fluff!
- ruminations on life and love and loss, starring the lesbians, of course. maybe drawing parallels between their sacrifices.
relationship(s): mipha & sidon
headcanon(s): mipha — lesbian, trans. sidon — gay
i find mipha and to be an especially tragic character, so i think there's angsty nonsense rife with her. what her dedication to fighting ganon meant and how in her sacrifice, she left behind her family and her people. sidon is an always sunny guy, so i think it'd be interesting to explore what her loss really meant for him. mipha's statue, located somewhere gorgeous in totk, and that sidon visits it every night... heart-wrenching.
ideas:
- scenes in their life before mipha became a champion, then later parallels to sidon trying to fulfill his duties as a sage. him feeling that burden and longing for guidance that his sister can no longer give him.
- how sidon stays so upbeat in the face of his loss. what's his mindset? what has he learned from his grief, if he learned anything?
cerulean chronicles (books) — 124k / 130k
these books are just so sweet and cozy, and i love their earnestness. the setting is lovely, and i'm a sucker for fantastical elements in a story so all the children's quirks are like snacks to me.
relationship(s): any
linus is a delightful little man, and so is arthur. the series is quite light on romance, so i'd love to see a more thorough dive into their relationship, how they work to build their relationship and juggle it alongside taking care of the kids. and speaking of the kids, i adore linus' growing closeness with lucy throughout the series, and how they really come to see each other as family. and in the second book i really enjoyed seeing arthur and phee have their moment together, it felt so right. i just love seeing them all interacting as a happy family.
ideas:
- after the second book, maybe farther into the future, seeing how life is like on marsyas. have arthur and linus adopted more children? have the original marsyas kids made new friends, found new conflicts?
- phee going through teenage angst, and trying to lean on arthur to get through it. maybe they experience friction and she lashes out in confusion, then dealing with the aftermath of that.
- lucy internally struggling with linus' presence in his life, maybe with jealousy and fear that he'll take arthur's attention away, but eventually coming to love him like he does arthur.
- holiday or birthday exchanged cards in the marsyas house. something sweet and that highlights the uniqueness of all the characters! maybe taking place after the second book, farther into the future, getting glimpses into everyone's lives.
- maybe linus or arthur has to leave the island for a period of time, and they send letters or phone back home, reassuring the kids and making no-one's burnt down the house or broken any limbs.
- arthur and linus bring home a vampire child!
- what quirks does this child have? what kinds of hobbies? maybe they don't drink blood, but instead tomato juice, or the color red.
- how do the other marsyas kids feel about the new addition? do they struggle with confronting a stigma surrounding vampires and their danger?
- maybe an exploration of how the child came to be a vampire? there's lots of moral implications to be found there...
criminal minds (show) — 364 ep. 42m ⟡
this show is so consistently well-written that it honestly surprises me sometimes, and that really shines with the characters. they fill out an archetype on the team, but they are multi-faceted and interesting and cohere together as an actual team, almost a family. i love those freaks. i'm only about halfway into season 8, so i ask that you pretty please avoid major plot details after that point. i would also rather see works not follow a case format, just because the show has so much of that, and more the in-between/after moments, or scenes outside of canon entirely.
relationship(s): derek morgan/spencer reid, penelope garcia & spencer reid, penelope garcia & derek morgan
headcanon(s): derek — bi. spencer — bi, non-binary. penelope — pan, non-binary
i enjoy derek/spencer particularly for their difference, but also how they bounce off each other and how they can come together for a common goal. they're sweet. i also just love the characters, spencer with his neuroticism and derek's strength that isn't just physical. i also love penelope so much. her interactions with the guys are so heartfelt, and her silly banter with derek makes the show for me.
ideas:
- penelope and spencer bonding over some common nerdy interest, but they both appreciate the same thing for different reasons, or have different attitudes about it, and they half-seriously fight over that. maybe they turn it into a big deal and implicate the rest of the team.
- penleope and derek have a hangout outside of work, featuring their characteristic back-and-forth. maybe exploring what draws these two to each other, and there's room for introspection and some seriousness there.
- i think in-between the happenings of the previous requests, there could be some moried going on around it. maybe penelope schemes to get them closer, or a scheme that backfires, anything really!
disco elysium (videogame) — 30hr
god this game is so rich!! i love the winding and exhaustive writing style, the quirks of each of harry's skills. the mundanity of all the peoples and their lives and the groundedness to the setting. the realistic and intricate view of systems of belief and institutions and the people that make them up. the communism. the hope. and especially kim <3
relationship(s): harry du bois/kim kitsuragi, harry du bois & kim kitsuragi
headcanon(s): harry — bi, genderqueer
harry and kim... these two are such great foils/complements to each other. harry is washed-up, abstract, with no past he can remember vs. kim who is controlled to a fault and deeply affected by all that has been done to him. harry latches onto kim and scratches an itch he didn't realize he had. i think their relationship is mostly positive for the both of them, but i do love a little mess in all my ships.
ideas:
- some of kim's notes on harry, either during or after the case of the hanged man. there's a line in the game that says, as opposed to harry, kim's notepad is how he speaks to himself, where the voices in his head come out, and i think it'd be fun to play with that.
- maybe harry or kim write notes to help remind harry of things he's forgotten, or puzzle together the missing pieces of his life to form a better picture of his past.
- case notes, or an article that's been written about a case they've taken on, featuring an exlcusive quote.
- notes taken during a long of game suzerainty!
- kim as a vampire! not much has to change about the main story, but this is something that kim keeps a deliberate secret from harry. fitting vampirism into the existing lore could be fun! or an urban fantasy AU? harry has of course forgotten it all, so he has to rediscover living in a world with magic. maybe harry is the vampire!
high school musical (movies) — 1hr 38m / 1hr 44m / 1hr 52m ⟡
these movies are pure shameless fun. i don't think there are films that i love more or watch as often as i do, especially the second. the sunny, feel-good vibes are amazing, and even when there are down moments, you always know that the characters are coming back bigger and better than before. i can hardly express my joy about this series.
relationship: sharpay evans/gabriella montez
headcanons: sharpay — lesbian, trans. gabriella — bi, trans
gabriella and sharpay! a potentially perfect rivals turned into lovers, it's just an absolute shame they aren't more popular! i love these girls so much, gabriella is so sweet and so loveable, and sharpay is such a queen. the feud comes from an unfulfilled burning desire, actually. every scene feels like it cuts just two seconds before they start kissing.
ideas:
- a take on the story where sharpay's obession with gabriella and troy stems from an overbearing sense of comphet, and her coming to grips with that. then she embraces her newfound identity and tries to romance gabriella as her usual passionate self.
- a post-graduation story. years out past their wildcat days, what do their lives look like now? potentially they have become more solid as people, maybe they have a meet-cute and get to move past high school for good.
- au where gabriella and sharpay actually get the duet instead. forced-proximity and confusing feelings ensue!
relationship(s): chad danforth/ryan evans
headcanon(s): chad — bi. ryan — gay
you saw the tension bewteen them in hsm2, i saw the tension bewteen them in hsm2, it was undeniable. it's unfortnate there's so little of them before and after that movie because they have such potential! like ryan is chad's introduction to the wonderful world of bisexuality, and i think chad is drawn to him, but scared of what that could mean for him.
ideas:
- chad and ryan's friendship more impactfully lasting after the second movie, and them going through a realization arc of their feelings for each other.
- maybe chad and ryan don't really keep in touch, and instead connect after graduation. they have a meet-cute and find out what's been happening in each other's lives. maybe drama ensues?
relationship(s): ryan evans & gabriella montez, ryan evans & sharpay evans
headcanon(s): ryan — gay. gabriella — bi, trans. sharpay — comphet lesbian, trans.
i love the evans twins when they get along and are working together. they're catty and almost insufferable, but they're just too iconic to dislike. their fashion? to die for! though i also think it'd be fun to see them in conflict and how they get back to being in-step with each other. for gabi and ryan, i think they were so right to introduce them as friends in hsm2, but then they didn't do anything with it!
ideas:
- ryan and sharpay just going about their fabulous life, shopping, lounging, the like. them talking to each other about how they each feel about a major happening in any of the movies.
- one the of the twins struggling through something, and confiding and relying on the other twin. maybe the struggle involves the other twin, and they don't know how to process it without their other half.
- how did ryan and gabriella come to be friends? they match well, both kind and friendly, and ryan has a confidence that i think gabi would admire and could learn from. but what was that inciting moment? maybe there's some drama with ryan or sharpay feeling like ryan is betraying his sister somehow.
- post-graduation, what does the twins relationship look like? where are they in life and how are they faring?
interstellar (movie) — 2hr 49m
DNW(s): human au
i quite love this movie. it's so tightly written and you can feel so much for the characters. i'm not very big on the science of it, but the simple moral of love being the key just hits me right in the mushy part of my brain.
characters: joseph cooper, TARS, murphy cooper, tom cooper
headcanons: joseph — bi
they have such little time together, but i was drawn by cooper and TARS' dynamic right away. i love that TARS isn't just a stock sci-fi robot, he's got a goofy personality and is loyal. cooper was a treat to me beacuse i have a fixation on emotionally devastated middle-aged fathers. put them together and you've got a pair that won't quit quipping and is a personal addiction of mine.
i'd also love to see the home life of the coopers, in some universe where coop is on earth but TARS is also there, maybe alongside any of the rest of endurance crew.
ideas:
- how isolation brings TARS and cooper together. maybe cooper stayed out of the pods for longer, sent more videos down to his kids, and in that time he looks for a friendly voice to bounce off of.
- maybe TARS pines after cooper? over-analyzing their few interactions, simulating conversations. time might factor differently in a machine's mind, either too fast or too slow, and 23 years is a long time to run a program.
- au — coop is still a pilot, TARS belongs to NASA, and they meet somehow during their tenure. or, TARS is formally decommissioned, but coop is a good enough mechanic to patch him up and bring him to life.
- the coopers trying to be a happy family at the end of the world. the kind of quiet melancholy that might come from that. chance to explore the state of the world in canon.
- post-canon exploration of TARS and cooper's journey to edmund's planet. potential is rife for a forced-proximity bonding here. maybe they take wacky detours along the way. when (or if) they get there, what next? maybe parallel brand and CASE to cooper and TARS?.
teen beach movie (movies) — 1hr 35m / 1hr 44m
DNW(s): sexual content
honestly this and high school musical fight for my favorite dcoms of all time. a staple from my childhood, i can hardly explain why i'm so drawn to this movie. namely i think it's the characters. they're simple but i think they have a great capacity for depth. and it's also the feel-good goofy vibe, like it's all fun all the time and quintessentially summer, though i do think there is ample opportunity to examine internal struggles, within lela and tanner especially.
characters: brady, tanner, lela, mack
headcanons: brady — bi, trans. tanner — autistic, gay. lela — autistic, lesbian. mack
tanner. what can i say? he's just so dumb and gay, i love him. lela too. brady is a class-clown, live in the moment type, that i think has hidden fear of change. i think there's an unfortunate deficit of content focused on brady/tanner, but i absolutely adore the dynamics of the group as a whole and would love seeing that explored. if you write slash, i encourage mack/lela as well, just if they're as/or less central as brady/tanner.
ideas:
- how do lela and tanner handle interactions with modern/real world things? lots of 'born yesterday' antics to be had there. maybe address their battles with realization and personhood if you take a more serious tone
- brady was a huge wet side story fan, and now his favorite characters are his best friends. is there friction there? personally, i like to imagine brady isn't over his childhood crush on tanner and has to deal with that
- au's: college, either the group went through high school together or they only just meet in school. or, brady and mack exist in the world of wetside story, who's a biker and who's a surfer? how does the story play out with them at the center? or, what if mack caught lela and tanner caught brady?
- days in the life of mack and brady as they try to acclimate lela and tanner to living, cartoon-ish hijinx ensue
- maybe the movie's not about a feud between bikers and surfers, but vampires and werewolves, or cowboys and bandits, or capulets and montagues! go wild with it!
the nice guys (movie) — 1hr 56m
the unseriousness of this film really gets me, like there's murder and there's pornstars but it's all treated with this lightness that's almost reminiscent of a daytime made-for-tv movie. i find it so funny. i'm also a sucker for depictions of america in past times, i've always been so curious about the minutiae of life before me, like the price of gas used to be or what was on airing on the television. the fashion is to die for, too.
relationship(s): holland march & holly march, holland march/jackson healy
headcanons: holland march — jewish, bi. holly march — jewish
march is a mess and i love that. i love that he gets punked on by his preteen daughter and drinks destructively to get over his ex-wife. i'm a glutton for found family and snarky characters so i was kept fed. healy is so lovable to me, and i love the idea that he straightens out march against reason because he's got a big heart.
ideas:
- a case fic would be more than lovely, though god knows we're not all little agatha christies. something dramatic and death-defying or something classic, maybe even silly
- or maybe the opposite! maybe the nice guys are going through a dry spot. how do march and healy exist around each other without the pretense of a work partnership? maybe they haven't hung out much before but find themselves yearning for that easy companionship?
- march and healy trying to navigate a growing relationship under societal (maybe internal) pressures while also trying to consider holly's feelings
- holly pov as she rationalizes her dad's new 'friend,' with teen angst? how does she relate this to her dead mom?? maybe even holly queer awakening???
- established older march/healy. maybe the nice guys are retired, what then? how's holly doing all grown up?
twilight (movies / books) — 12hr / 601.2k ⟡
this series is such a hot mess, but damn do i love it... the characters are where it's at for me (bella is best girl forever!), they're kind of the only thing that make half of it work at all. i will say that i do love the lowkey and small-scale vibes of twilight and the beginning to new moon — you know, before it all starting going downhill. the platonic and familial bonds here are also just lovely. i would rather see explorations of any relationship outside of the main plot of twilight, or at least not super attached the larger aspects of it.
relationship(s): jacob black/edward cullen
headcanon(s): jacob — bi. edward — gay, trans non-binary
these two my little crackship that grew way out of hand, and now i'm obsessed. unfortunately, they are not that popular much anymore! i love their contrast — visually, personality-wise, their histories. i like that they have a little rivalry going on, but i'm not much a fan of how one-sidely smeyer writes it. her cullens are just unopposed racists. i think removed from that, their dynamic has so much great potential.
ideas:
- human au — edward's car breaks down while he's out, and he quickly turns into the carshop that jacob works at. or jacob has a pet dog and edward has a dog allergy. neighborly mishaps? so many routes to go down!
- leaning into edward/jacob being more monstrous. a dark and moody dracula-esque edward who has a genuine blood-rival in werewolf jacob. they kill people!
- angsty soulmates au. angsty because edward is always moaning about his lack of soul. jacob is very long-suffering.
- bella and edward are drawn to each other as friends, and she sometimes brings jacob on their hangouts. maybe their rivalry here spawns from fighting over who's her actual best friend, and then attraction sparks between them.
relationship(s): alice cullen/bella swan
headcanon(s): alice — lesbian, trans non-binary. bella — lesbian, trans
bellice!!! fumbling, bookish girl who loves an airy, whimsical girl who loves her back! there's an earnestness to them both, and they bring out the better parts of each other.
ideas:
- small moments of bella working up the courage to ask alice out, or other awkward attempts to romance her, or her continued flustering at alice's affections.
- human au — single parent bella meet-cutes alice through reneesme. or alice sets her sights on cute cashier bella and romancing ensue. blind date gone right? coworker shenanigans?
- alice and bella contending with mortality and bella's obsession with otherness and her perceived plainness. they're in love and maybe they want different things for each other.
- bella's emails to alice after the cullens have left. bella fixating on the loss of their magic from her life, and especially the loss of alice. maybe bella details how her life starts to get better. maybe alice drafts responses she never sends.
relationship(s): jacob black & bella swan, bella swan & charlie swan
headcanon(s): jacob — bi. bella — lesbian, trans. charlie — bi
i miss the moments early on in the series when it really felt like bella and jacob were friends. they hung out without expecting from each other and the stakes were a lot lower. they're reunited childhood friends, why couldn't we just have more of that! i also enjoy bella and charlie's relationship, what of it we get. they're so alike but they don't really realize it, but their care for each other is so obvious.
ideas:
- bella and charlie celebrating a holiday or other celebration with jacob and his family. platonic and familial fluff, maybe some reminiscing on when bella used to visit and what she missed while she was away.
- bella getting used to living with charlie, with some friction and awkwardness. maybe interrogating bella's instinct to take over for her grown dad and her life under renee, or getting them to really see each other.
- how did bella keep in touch with charlie while she lived in arizona? they might've emailed each other, or called, or exchanges cards for the holidays. i'd love to see an awkward but heartfelt correspondence between them.
- ^ similar idea for bella and jacob! maybe they stayed close after she moved away and kept in contact, sharing about their lives and complaining to each other like actual good friends. or maybe texts/emails between them while bella is in forks, talking like teenagers. they hang out, do dumb stuff and get hurt and/or in trouble.
relationship(s): alice cullen & edward cullen
headcanon(s): alice — lesbian, trans non-binary. edward — gay, trans non-binary
i think these two are perfect a duo. they're the youngest physically of the cullens, and oddballs with invasive gifts that are hard for others to grasp, but i think understand each other very well. they have different approaches to life i think compliment each other, and they definitely are the the troublemakers of the family.
ideas:
- any exchange between the two of them that showcase their closeness! maybe they plan mischief together, or alice forces edward to help her with a party, or they compose a song for edward to play
the murderbot diaries (books) — 317.2k ⟡
DNW(s): human AU
this series is such a fun, adventurous romp through space. i blew through all the current entries in week and loved it. the worldbuilding is definitely is lighter, but the information we do get is intriguing, and the technology of this world and the way characters interact with it is so delectable to me. the bots are just amazing. and murderbot is an awkward, awful, confused mess who i adore.
relationship(s): ART & murderbot, ART/murderbot
murderbot and ART's relationship is the most compelling in the series, to me. there's a level of comfort that murderbot feels around ART that it doesn't around humans, and the means by which they interact are so rife for fun style experimentation. as murderbot increasingly faces having emotions and agency, it can reliably fall back on ART to understand it, and push it. ART's nastiness is also very loveable — it and murderbot should be assholes together.
ideas:
- ART and murderbot watching a show or movie together, hating or loving it, and their commentary on it. maybe through the lens of whatever they're watching, they compare their relationship to those protrayed and communicated by humans.
- casefic-esque — murderbot going on some kind of detail and ART aiding it, maybe things get dangerous and ART is worried about murderbot's safety and trying to keep it safe. murderbot has feelings about it.
- an exploration of their relationship, if murderbot ever gets around to calling it that, outside of the bounds of standard definitions. human relationships are already complicated enough, imagine one between killer robots. maybe get weird and funky with it.
